Summer Wrap-Up Series: July and August
It was summer vay-kay. Quite a few things happened this past summer that I’ve almost lost track. I think of it much like a lazy summer break like like those I remember from elementary school. This post is the first in a series of summer fun wrap-ups.
To kick off the season, we had a June yard sale got rid of tons of junk. Seen below is Matt trying on some materials found at the sale.
Went attended the Summer Solstice Party and spent some time in Wabasha, MN.
We experienced a work slump in June. But summer activities made up for it.
We ate lots of good food at Justin and Adrienne’s. Justin specializes in pie.

We painted the porch and front door.
(Still haven’t gotten around to photographing it.)
Helped build a pond (more photos).
Built a box garden.
Ate more good food.
We visited Dustin, Annie, and Peter at the cabin (expanded photoset has more cute kid and dog photos):
Shortly thereafter, went camping at Whitewater for a weekend. It’s a gorgeous state park near Winona, MN. Read more about it.
Bella stayed with us for a week in July.
(archived photo)
Paul visited Mount Holly Days in Mt. Holly, MN.
—
Went to a Twins game with the Gruenwalds (vs. The Angels). Boo, the Twins lost.
(No photos, but I got covered in dome dog cheese.)
—
Sarah and Paul both got colds. Then it got really hot out.
(No photos of that either. It was disgusting.)
—
Also, Sarah found an awesome hammock on Craigslist. I look forward to collecting several more!
Finally, Sarah posted the contents of her polaroid box online. You can find the complete set on Flickr and Facebook, or see a shortened preview below:
Yay summer!
