At the Polar Plunge in Wabasha, MN
The Grumpy Plunge is part of the annual Grumpy Old Men Festival in Wabasha on Feb. 28. The plunge is a fundraiser to benefit Great River Homes Inc. and the Rotary Club of Wabasha. It was followed by an awards ceremony Saturday at Slipper’s Bar on 10 Church Ave.
The low for the day was 3F, and the high is 20. I have no idea what the wind chill is, but let’s just say it’s pretty cold at the river’s shore. The entire town got together to watch a bunch of folks run off the dock and dive in to the Mississippi River on the last day of February. I didn’t catch much floating ice in the photos, but let me assure you, it’s pretty cold.
