Decompressing!
On this stormy night, while Paul was away at another nerdy workshop, I found myself with some free time at home (mostly due to our postponed camping trip). I sort of wish I was writing about attacking my ever growing to-do/ every growing hobby list (indoor) including:
- sort through attic boxes
- sort through basement boxes
- clean garage
- read newest Bitch Magazine
- various thank-you notes
- begin to braid new rug
- merge into Paul’s workspace!
- organize stuff for making stuff (fabric, paper, sewing supplies, pretty things)
- explore CSA options
- make pillows, curtains for new house
- yoga
- wedding planning- this could have it’s own list- but I don’t want to bore anybody…
Well.. needless to say of all of these lovely indoor activities, I found myself doing nothing. I stretched a little bit at some point, got up and sat on the front porch to watch the pretty rain. I watched that dance reality show and psyched myself up about tornados coming through Minneapolis.
Anyway, as some may remember when I finished my first semester of school I allowed myself a month of guilt free laziness. I watched movie after movie and I braided a kick ass rug. I also had enough vacation time then to take an entire week off of work! Which, I’m sure I will be able to do again someday.
I’ve learned two important things from this experience. First, for me rug braiding is really much more of a winter activity. I love to soak up sun and outdoors whenever it’s possible. Second, going from serious school anxiety straight to moderate wedding anxiety meant that I have not had time to decompress- much needed! Tonight… however, I’ve been very much decompressing. Yay!
ps: The semester ended fantastically, both in my grades and I was placed in my top choice for my internship. Another yay!
